The most important thing you can do is face the void. The void is the blank page, the unscheduled day, the conversation that has not started. Anything could be in there. Anything could come of it. If you do nothing, nothing will come of it.
The point, therefore, is to begin.
The beginning will be full of mistakes, but never a mistake in itself.
Building once you have begun is a process of correction and revision, discovering new possibilities that you could not have seen from the starting point. Only when you’re halfway there and failing can you see the route that leads to success.
The only real mistake, therefore, is never to have begun.
And you have to do this every day. Every single day. Face the void.
